Let's talk
Even though I'm not actively looking for a new opportunity, I'm always happy to chat!
If after reading about me, you think I'd be a good fit, feel free to reach out.
About me
Hello world
Born and raised in Paris ๐ซ๐ท, moved to London ๐ฌ๐ง in my late twenties, then Dublin ๐ฎ๐ช to finally settle near Montrรฉal ๐จ๐ฆ.
I live with my partner, our two kids (twins) and our dog Juno.
Outside of work
Parenting takes most of my time outside of work, ensuring we raise decent, kind, and healthy human beings capable of critical thinking unbothered by the latest social media fad takes some doing!
I'm a fervent practitioner of type II fun activities (ultra trail, Ironman triathlons, mountain biking, swimming, hiking, etc). Doing hard things helps me build resilience and perspective, both useful in life and work. It also provides me with time outdoors, on a mountain or in a forest when I can.
I love to read. That love is forever challenged by wanting to decompress watching TV series or movies. I try to read at least one book a month but will often do 2 or 3. My favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, novels, noire, body health related or programming/engineering technical books.
Belief system
No bullshit. I say what I mean and I mean what I say, I expect the same from others.
Default to open. I worked hard on myself to develop an open/growth mindset, I lead with questions and curiosity, and will assume positive intent.
Outcome over output. I don't care how many lines of code you write, how many meetings you attend, how many tickets you close, I care about your impact on the team and product. See Martin Fowler's article.
Productivity isn't everything. I care about sustainable productivity, not burnout. I believe in working smart, taking breaks, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Getting lost isn't productive but often leads to learning new things, getting different perspectives. We're on this earth for a limited time and I believe we should be here to enjoy it, not maximize shareholder value at all cost (no 996 for me).
Keep It Simple, Stupid. Intrinsic complexity is unavoidable, accidental complexity is not. I strive to build simple systems based on domain understanding, with strong observability and the least surprises. I'm keen on a very lightweight domain driven approach to ensure all stakeholders share the same ubiquitous language.
